| Mission Appeal THIS WEEKEND we will have our Mission Appeal, as part of the Archdiocesan Mission Cooperative Plan. There will be a second collection at the 5:30 PM Saturday Mass and all the Sunday Masses. Msgr. George Tomichek, a native of Philadelphia who has worked 33 years in the Philippines, will speak at all the Masses providing us with a greater understanding of the mission work in the Diocese of Calbayog, Philippines. The area suffers greatly from typhoons and flooding and because of poverty there, homes have not been built to withstand the destruction of these elements. Therefore, there is a great need for assistance in building solid, strong homes. Since there is only one main road in Calbayog, new roads are needed in the territory. Funds are also needed for the spiritual education of the people. A pastoral center, built in recent years, was destroyed by fire, therefore, a new pastoral center is necessary for medical, education and evangelization programs. There are 54 young men studying in the seminary and 45 more waiting, but housing and resources are necessary to sustain and support them. Our Parish has always been generous in supporting missionaries and the work in the missions. Your generous support next weekend is gratefully appreciated. Thank you! |

| Dear Parishioners of St. Henry Church, It has been a month since I arrived at St. Henry’s, and I would like to express my gratitude for your kindness and welcoming spirit. I am finally finished with unpacking and am getting used to my new schedule and responsibilities. In the last four years I spent at St. Teresa of Avila in Summit, New Jersey, I had a very positive experience with the parish ministry there. Likewise, I look forward to getting to know my new parish family of St. Henry. I am very impressed with how many of you know how to pronounce my name, Maciej. It seems that you have greater experience with Polish names than parishioners in my former assignment. My legal name is Maciej. However, I always go by Maciek (pronounced Mah - Chek), or “Mom’s Check”, as Father Rich has already memorized. See you around! - Father Maciej |

| OUR SUMMER MUSIC… We begin using a Seasonal Responsorial Psalm in July, and continue using it until September. Your sung response is “Lord, you have the words of everlasting life”. The purpose of the Seasonal Psalm is to give you the opportunity to memorize and savor it (rather than referring to a changing printed psalm response each week). We encourage you to follow the lead of the cantor on this beautiful refrain. The other sung Mass parts have been selected from very familiar sources. You should easily recognize and follow the melodies. Since the Parish Choir, Youth Ensemble, and Children’s Choir are off for the summer, we urge you to fully participate in the Sunday Liturgy by “singing your heart out”. LORD, YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF EVERLASTING LIFE—Ps. 19 |
| Summer Faith Sharing July & August During the remaining Friday of July and the first three Fridays of August we shall continue to explore the Bible and to open up the Sunday Scripture readings in the Rectory office meeting room, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. FALL/WINTER “Women of the Old Testament” - you’ve heard their names, you’ve heard stories about them—stories which offer us courage and insight. Enrollment is limited. Pre- registration is necessary if you wish to have the study materials. Cost of study materials (commentary and study guide) will be about $15.
